AMARC-AP is very proud to announce Cofact as the national host for the 5th AMARC Asia-Pacific Regional Conference (September 27th – 30th, 2023) held in Bangkok, Thailand.
Cofact (Collaborative Fact-Checking) is a Thai fact-checking platform launched in 2021. It is a collaborative effort of fact-checking organizations, journalists, academics, and volunteers. The platform aims to combat the spread of fake news in Thailand by providing accurate and reliable information.
Cofact uses a variety of methods to fact-check information, including:
- Cross-referencing information with multiple sources
- Investigating the claims made in the information
- Using social media analytics to track the spread of information
- Consulting with experts
Once Cofact has fact-checked a piece of information, it will be published on the platform with a rating of ‘True’, ‘False’, ‘Mostly True’, ‘Mostly False’, ‘Unproven’, or ‘Debunked’.
Cofact is a valuable resource for people who want accurate information about current events in Thailand. It is also an excellent way to learn about the dangers of fake news and how to identify it.
